It appears I was the random choice winner.. Yay !!
This is a sweet cheer up journal she did for a dear friend battling an illness.

I had been a fan of Kelly’s after discovering her blog this past winter. September in Northern New Mexico is pure magic. It is all about the light.
The air is perfect and landscape golden.
After Labor Day things slow down, and the air is filled with the pungent aroma of roasting chiles. A chilly nights will have us checking the woodpile, and pulling some sweet seasoned pinon for the first fire of the Fall. Its all about the light in September in Northern New Mexico. When a dear friend visited from California recently we took to the High Road to Taos, and the enchanted little town of Truchas.
We spent a magical afternoon.. of which I will write more in my next post.

What would a blog about Santa Fe be without a post on Indian Market weekend. Many locals have a love hate relationship with the eighty-eight year old Native Arts show. The reason being in a good year our population doubles for a week. The wide open spaces get a bit snug. We may actually have some traffic, and maybe have to wait for a table at our favorite restaurant. Summer Spaces, Summer's Traces ~ Theme for August
It is time for the August Call to Creatives theme for the month. Actually it is past time, but since today is the day I get the word out that I am here, hopefully no one will be any worse for the wait.
Here in Northern New Mexico the summer of 2010 has been the most beautiful I have ever experienced. Last Sunday I had the joy of sharing some of my favorite Taos spots with a girlfriend who had not been there in a decade. I packed some snacks, grabed the camera and headed out. We had a spectacular NM day with skies even more sparkling blue than usual. Our first stop was the Mabel Dodge Luhan House. It is one of my my secret retreats..so lets keep this between us.

Another fabulous Friday night of gallery openings was on hand for denizens of the City Different. Its is officially summer gallery season in Santa Fe with over 30 gallery openings this last Friday evening. Getting a late start required a discerning eye and light foot. I can wish all I like for smaller crowds but I will not find them at The Santa Fe International Folk Art Market this weekend. It is the largest international folk art market in the world, and the unseasonably cooler weather is sure to draw record crowds this year. This At the Market video is a sneak peak of this truly amazing gathering of artisans from around the world.

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of checking out "Celebration of the Book Arts and Art Journaling" presented by the Art Garden Gallery in Eldorado at Santa Fe. Our Santa Fe Books Arts Group had several entries as well as entries from all over the US. Jessica did an outstanding job of hanging the show. A book lovers delight..
